What is Bollinger Bands (Squeeze) Indicator?

Bollinger Bands Squeeze is an MT5 chart indicator that compares Bollinger Band width with an ATR-based range measure. Periods, deviation, percentage threshold, colors, and alert settings control the displayed contraction areas.
Marked areas show where the selected range has narrowed relative to the configured measurements. They provide volatility context for review and do not establish what happens after the area.
How to Use It in Practice

Compare the Bollinger Band width with the ATR-based squeeze coloring, then inspect how much of the area between the center average and outer band is marked:
- Use Bollinger bands period, Price, and Bollinger bands deviations multiplier to change the underlying band calculation.
- Use ATR multiplier to make the low-volatility coloring more or less selective.
- Use Zones percent to change the proportion of the center-to-outer-band area that is shaded; 50% is the halfway setting.
Bollinger width and ATR context share one display, making quieter range sections easier to locate and compare.

| Bollinger bands deviations multiplier | Sets how far the upper and lower Bollinger Bands are from the moving average in terms of standard deviations. Higher values create wider bands and fewer squeeze signals. |
| ATR multiplier | Adjusts the sensitivity of the squeeze zones using the Average True Range. Increasing this value widens the threshold for volatility comparison. |
| Zones percent | Determines the percentage threshold at which the squeeze condition is triggered. Lower values create more frequent signals, while higher values focus on stronger contraction phases. |
