What is Mean Reversion?

Mean Reversion chart overview

Mean Reversion draws a central moving average and upper and lower range lines on an MT5 chart. The display uses an orange average with green and red outer lines.

The lines show the configured distance from the average and can help organize stretched price movement. They do not establish that price will return to the center line.

How to use Mean Reversion

Mean Reversion practical chart example

Review the outer lines with the moving-average slope, completed candles, and nearby price structure. Strong movement can remain outside a displayed range for extended periods.

Range changes the outer-line distance and MA period changes the central moving-average window.

Where it helps

Show average distance

Upper and lower lines make the configured range visible around the moving average.

Keep the central trend context

The average remains visible between the outer lines.

Use two focused settings

Range and MA period are the available Inputs.
