What is volatility-ratio?

volatility-ratio is an indicator that expresses price movement over a selected period as a relative volatility ratio. It distinguishes high-volatility conditions from lower-volatility range conditions. Its line reacts faster than ATR, and higher readings indicate more active price movement.
How to use volatility-ratio

Follow the volatility-ratio line, which reacts faster than ATR. Higher readings show more active price movement, while sustained low readings describe a quieter range-market state. The line can be used to distinguish volatility increases associated with a breakout from lower volatility in a range market.
